How long are classes?
Lessons may be 30 or 45 minutes long. It is dependent on the age and attention span of the child. Generally, 30 minute lessons are appropriate for 3 to 5-year-olds, while older children may attend longer classes.

 How many kids are in a class?

There is a maximum of 4 children in one class (depending on level) to ensure each child receives individual instruction. 

 How do I know Eager Readers will be appropriate for my child?

There are different levels of instruction. Assessments are conducted to determine the appropriate level for your child.

 When are classes held?

Classes are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday during school term time.

  • Term 1 – Feb 1 to Apr 3
  • Term 2 – Apr 27 to Jul 4
  • Term 3 – July 20 to Sep 26
  • Term 4 – Oct 12 to Dec 12

 Can I enrol my child in Eager Readers even if the term has already started?

Yes, please call or email us at info@eagerreaders.com.au to arrange an assessment time.

 Are parents expected to stay with their child?

Parents are not expected to stay with their child, but are welcome to remain with their young child if she or he has difficulty separating. 

 How much does Eager Readers cost?

Group lessons are $31 for a half hour and $42 for 45 minutes. Groups may include 2 to 4 children starting at the same level. For individual literacy lessons (which are limited), pricing is $50 for a half hour (weekdays, 8:30 – 2:30) and $60 for a half hour (after school and Saturdays). Fees include GST and all printed materials.

Payment for the term is due after the first lesson. The first lesson is considered a trial. If you don’t think Eager Readers is for your child, there is no obligation to continue and payment will be waived. If you choose to continue, you will be invoiced for the term, including this first lesson.

 Does Eager Readers offer private tutoring sessions?

Eager Readers offers limited private one-to-one literacy and ESL language lessons for children. Individualised programs are devised for students based on their learning needs. Pricing is $50 for a half hour (weekdays, 8:30 – 2:30) and $60 for a half hour (after school and Saturdays). Schedules are set by negotiation.
